Welcome to my web site. I’m running for Laguna Hills City Council to provide much-needed new and dynamic leadership. Today’s City Council is exactly the same one we elected 20 years ago. Unfortunately, our city does not yet enjoy Term Limits that would provide a healthy change in council membership. I intend to fix that problem. My many years as a financial consultant, leader of the Chamber of Commerce, and president or director of boards for issues affecting health care, growth and transportation and quality of life, have prepared me to serve the citizens of Laguna Hills. I look forward to working to improve our city’s revenues, services and quality of life.
Thank you for your support.
A proven leader, Barbara’s vision for the City of Laguna Hills includes the following:
Create openness and transparency.
Establish reasonable spending priorities.
Increase citizen participation.
Establish term limits.
Term Limits Are Essential
Barbara is committed to bringing Term Limits to the City of Laguna Hills. Our neighbor cities of Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo and Irvine, and 22 out of Orange County’s 34 cities, have chosen to adopt Term Limits. When the existing City Council was first elected in 1991, Barbara’s daughter Elizabeth was in diapers—and now she’s in college and eligible to vote! Our city needs fresh perspectives and practices and an active political process to increase opportunities to create strong leadership and citizens dedicated to the service of our community.
Our Seniors, Animal Owners and Business
Advocates for Seniors, the business community and humane animal care have all been impressed by Barbara’s creative and thorough approach to finding solutions to their concerns. Barbara will work to provide Senior Mobility funding at no additional cost to Laguna Hills taxpayers. She will create a Seniors Commission to address ways to provide services for Seniors which are provided by virtually all our neighbor cities. Barbara is actively involved in finding ways for Orange County to better serve the needs of Laguna Hills animal owners at no additional cost to Laguna Hills taxpayers. As a former Chamber of Commerce professional, she will be actively involved in strengthening the local Chamber of Commerce and working to attract and retain business in Laguna Hills. Barbara is committed to strengthening business and increasing revenues for the City of Laguna Hills.

Rally to Get Signatures
Supporters of the Laguna Hills Term Limits Initiative will rally this Saturday morning, Jan. 30, to kick off their first day of signature-gathering.
Those who want to help circulate petitions should be at the Hills Hotel on La Paz Road (formerly the Holiday Inn) to receive petitions, instructions and other materials. The rally starts at 8:30 a.m.
Participants will be given location assignments and may team up if desired. They should bring their cell phones, wear comfortable shoes and plan to be outside.
Circulators must be eligible to vote in the State of California, according to a recent Appellate Court ruling, while only Laguna Hills residents can sign the actual petition.
Plans for further signature gathering will also be discussed Saturday morning.
For further information, or to obtain or sign petitions, contact Barbara Kogerman, Laguna Hills Term Limits Initiative Chairman, by cell phone at 949-586-5552.
